Tamron 24-70 and Digital Juice Orbit Micro Test from Mark Hanna on Vimeo.
I didn’t really intend to do this review both these products at the same time. I just purchased the lens last week and Drew and Brynn’s wedding was my first opportunity to really use it. The DJ for the wedding asked me to put together a little promo video for him. He did an awesome job, so I was glad to. I really enjoyed making this video.
I purchased the Tamron for a couple of reasons; first was the price, compared to the new Canon 24-70mm the Tamron is a steal. The second reason was the Tamron has vibration compensation (VC) which none of the other 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses have. I think the VC makes a big difference, for shooting handheld video. Lastly, all the reviews I looked at basically said the Canon was a little sharper at the low f-stops, but only a little.
The Orbit Micro by Digital Juice was actually a product we purchased a while back for the church. We hadn’t really had an excuse to use yet so I grabbed it on my way out the door as an after thought, I am glad I did.
